Loughborough University has a lively arts programme open to staff, students and the wider community.

Radar is the University’s contemporary arts programme, hosting three seasons of work each year.  Each season of commissions, talks, films and events is inspired by a particular area of research or inquiry being investigated by artists and academics, with events taking place in a range of venues and locations across the campus and local area.  Recent projects have commissioned artists to respond to research as varied as memory, work songs and sustainability with new work being sited in locations such as the train station, the library and the town’s bell foundry.

The University also hosts a concert programme of world class choirs, quartets and ensembles, attracting some of the most exciting musicians working today.  Natalie Clein, the Brodsky Quartet and Steven Isserlis have all recently performed at the University. Tickets for concerts are available from Loughborough Town Hall. Booking Info

Loughborough University also has its own orchestra and concert band which students can join, along with a thriving choir which is open to all.  For those students who play an instrument or sing, tuition is available at a subsidised rate, and for the musically gifted Music Scholarships are offered.  The University also offers a variety of art classes, which are open to all.  For more information go to Tuition and classes .

Rehearsal space and other facilities are also available for students to use for creative activities (see Room Bookings for more information) and Loughborough Student’s Union is home to a number of thriving societies for students to get involved in, including dance, drama, cinema and DJing (go to Clubs and Societies for more information).
