Ahead of their performance at the Curve in Leicester in March, the Alexander Whitley Dance Company will deliver a dance workshop for Loughborough University students.

Alexander Whitley is a choreographer working at the cutting edge of British contemporary dance and, as artistic director of Alexander Whitley Dance Company, has developed a reputation for a bold interdisciplinary approach to dance making. He has created work for several of the UK's leading companies including the Royal Ballet, Rambert, Balletboyz, Candoco and Birmingham Royal Ballet.

Alexander is a New Wave Associate artist at Sadler's Wells theatre, an associate at Rambert and a former choreographic affiliate of the Royal Ballet. His choreography has won him nominations for the 2012 Arts Foundation fellowship, the 2014 Sky Arts Southbank Awards and the 2015 Critics' Circle Awards.

Students attending the workshop will also have the chance to claim a heavily discounted ticket to see Alexander Whitley Dance Company perfom at Curve, Leicester on Tuesday 12th March. LU Arts can offer students who come to the workshop a ticket for £5 rather than the usual price of £15.
