The tutors

Painting & Drawing - Jo Sheppard

Following an Art and Design Foundation in North Lincolnshire, Jo undertook a Degree in Fine Art at Coventry University, graduating in 1991. She trained to become a teacher of art in 1996 and taught in secondary schools until 2002, before taking the plunge to work as a professional artist. Alongside her own studio practice painting she continues to teach adults, run workshops in schools and also work as a participatory artist with mental health service users.

Jo exhibits frequently in group shows and as a solo artist. She is an active member of the Loughborough based art group ArtSpace and the Leicestershire Society of Artists.

Pottery - Sarah Cameron

Influenced by the colours and textures of the natural environment, Sarah’s collection includes designs inspired by the fauna in folklore and features in nature. All her work is thrown on the potters’ wheel and decorated using inlaid patterns and glazes.

Sarah studied Ceramics at North Warwickshire College, before graduating from De Montfort University, Leicester with a degree in Ceramics and Glass. Since graduating Sarah has shared her knowledge and skills in various educational settings including colleges, universities and the community, teaching both young people and adults.

Having established a studio at home, Sarah has been able to combine her creative work with busy family life, refining and testing her interests to produce many one-off pieces, commissions and a range of functional ware for use in everyday life.
