Employability

LU Arts offers current students and recent graduates opportunities at Loughborough University to gain experience of working in an arts environment through volunteering and casual employment.

We regularly employ students as apprentices to the contemporary artists working with us, and in roles ranging from box office to marketing to assisting with the organisation and running of our events.

One of our most exciting opportunities allows current students to gain valuable experience in programming, marketing, and organising events by applying to be our Acoustic Night and Speech Bubble Co-ordinators. These co-ordinators are responsible for delivering two sessions. This means seeking out and inviting both professional poets and students to perform, securing a venue for the events, working with a technical crew on sound and lighting design, working with a designer on printed publicity materials, and promoting the event through a range of channels including social media.
