Come and explore the wonders of Batik with Andrew Wynee  - a method (originally used in Java) of producing coloured designs on textiles by dyeing them. Learners will create several sampler pieces using traditional wax resists using traditional Indonesian tjaps (a craftsman made printing block made from copper,) and Ukrainian kistkas (fine, stylus type ‘pens’) and successive dye colour layers. The emphasis will be upon experimentation using traditional approaches with a contemporary twist.

A £3 deposit per person must be paid at the time of booking. On completion of the workshop, this will receive the equivalent in loyalty points to spend on purchases in LSU. This deposit is non-refundable if you do not turn up on the day.
