Last year the Nottingham-based artist and composer Rebecca Lee produced Making it up, this moment in June, a new musical work for Radar, Loughborough University’s contemporary arts programme. Inspired by the different ways we listen to each other when listening to or performing music and in everyday life, it was performed by a mixture of beginner and experienced musicians (including Loughborough University students). To mark the release of the score for this work, Rebecca is returning to Loughborough to run this workshop on musical improvisation and listening. You’ll have a chance to explore Rebecca’s process and try out playing parts of the score. The workshop will be of interest to anyone interested in experimental methods for making music on any instrument (including singers), and regardless of formal musical ability.

This workshop is open to members of the public and the Loughborough University community. The workshop is made possible by the kind support of the Hinrichsen Foundation.
