Did you know that Rahul is not the first alumni of Loughborough to win the Great British Bake Off?

Frances Quinn, who studied art at Loughborough won Great British Bake Off in 2013 and sees her creative background as central to her success in baking. Her imaginative approach to baking is informed by a design that she sketches up and then pairs with a recipe.

Frances is returning to Loughborough to talk about her approach to baking, and her route to success as well as making something yummy to eat.   Frances looks forward to answering your questions whether that be about her time at Loughborough or on Great British Bake Off, or if you have queries about your own baking.

Frances will also be launching the first Halls Great Loughborough Bake Off. This will involve two stages. The first will be where Frances sets each hall a baking challenge. Students within each hall will have the opportunity to compete to be their hall star baker. Each hall star baker will win a £50 prize and a free baking workshop.  The second stage will be where the star bakers from each hall will compete against each other to win the ultimate prize of Hall Bake off Champion. Frances will set a new baking challenge and each hall star baker will bake to be crowned hall bake off champion. The winner will receive a £500 prize!
