On Saturday 6 February we celebrated the culmination of three Market Day projects: Brand News, ‘ough’ough and Loughborough Records Presents Presence.
On Saturday 6 February the celebration of Market Day took place in Loughborough’s town centre. Not only did we celebrate the culmination of three Market Town project on this day, it was also the last day we had the Market Corner in Carillon Court Shopping Centre. During the day a continuous flow of visitors came into the shop to have a drink, look at the documentation about the projects, visit Can Altay’s recording studio or participate in a drop-in workshop led by Europa and Peter Nencini. They asked people to create a visualisation of Loughborough using archive material from their project. The results were scanned and will be part of the research Europa and Peter Nencini are doing for their ‘ough’ough project.
From Market Corner, a lot of people also went to visit Ashby Square News, where the Brand News project of Kathrin Böhm was taking place. For one day all of the stock was completely re-branded, or unbranded, re-imagined by the hundreds of participants who took place in the workshops that had run over December and January.
We’ve added some photos of the day below.
