New public artwork installed

Robert Orchardson's new work We are the sky is now safely installed in its permanent home in the Schofield Building at Loughborough University.

Robert was selected from amongst fierce competition to develop a new work for the Schofield's atrium space, which will act as the building's reception and the entrance to the Mathematics department. We are the sky is inspired by images of early aviators and scientists, and draws on the pioneering structures of early kites. Each element of the work is suspended in air, allowing them to be viewed from different levels of the building to create multiple perspectives on the work.

Drop by the Schofield Building next time you're nearby to get a look at this amazing new work - a wonderful addition to the university's art collection.
